there is a tune for 2011/2012 ram hemi
Is the replacement PCM the same year model or an earlier '09-'010? If the encryption is so difficult to break then how did this guy do it? How does he program the PCM. I'm thinking that maybe they are earlier model PCM that he makes "work" with the later model trucks.
He did not replace the PCM. He flashed it, and I watched him. This is a guy that is closely connected with Chrysler....worked there for like 17 years. I think he has the code...but that's just my opinion....
well the "rumor" the SC will crack the code is nothing but a rumor--its been out there forever, just like the rumor Diablo will. Its a rolling 128 bit, military grade encryption...I would not want to wager it will ever be cracked.
second, I live right by the tuner--no biggie to get flashed. But if I didn't, he will sell you a spare PCM. Third--my dealer wont flash over it if I ask them not to...I have bought a dozen cars from them. But-- I hear what your saying. Believe me-- If there was a SC option out there or Diablo-- I would go there. There isnt, an no real indication there will be any time soon.
lastly- stock, the eco boost is faster. sorry to tell you that- but 0-60, its the fastest truck out there. Ram is third behind that and the GM 6.2.
besides, I have go fast vehicles in garage..an SRT8 jeep and an 11 second BMW. I just want the ram to be its best..and from the factory-it is severely de-tuned. Just saying, there is one option out there today for those who want to correct that.

I had one of the first B&G tunes on my 2011 Ram.
I can tell you there won't be anything coming out soon from Superchips or Diablo. Ive been a beta tester for Superchips in the past and live about 20 min away from them. I'm in direct contact with multiple people there and they aren't even close.
B&G is a good investment for the time being. I couldn't be happier with mine.
I am the fastest 2011 Ram out there by far. 12.4@108
Also the 2nd fastest 4th gen. And Im about to be first.
The reason he can tune these while others can't is because he used to tune for Chrysler and still has the factory software at his disposal.

Probably I didn't read everything right Soo, are we saying the "Eco Boost" (about $3000 more, model for model Is .01 (one Tenth of a second quicker than anything else in the 1/4 mile) is all that important?? I mean whats that about maybe 1/4 of a truck length?? WOW!!! I'm going to Ford and trade my RAM tomorrow!! I mean 1/4 of a truck length is very important to me. To heck with the fact model for model the RAM is roomier and has more comfortable seats. just asking?
A word of caution:
The B&G tunes have been proven to be harmful/unsafe, on the Chrysler 392, and the 6.1 and 5.7 lines in the cars. These flashed to your PCM could hurt the longevity of your engine. I have also seen them harming the Caliber SRT4 series. I have not been able to personally inspect one of the truck tunes yet, but I would tread lightly here guys.
On a lighter note, the B&G guys don't have to break the code, they modify and reflash the PCM like Chrysler would, but it's expensive equipment, diablo can write the tunes and flash the,. But they don't have a way of making a portable solution yet for you to take home.
That being said, I would like to do a turbo build on my new 2012 ram 1500 I'm picking up tomorrow, probably have to go to B&G to get the tune written, but THEY WILL NOT BE WRITING THE TUNE. I know plenty of better ones I actually trust my vehicles with.
Tread lightly with B&G.

Not to mention when you have a highly modified vehicle it needs to be kept up 100% or many, many issue's can arise.
I hear ya. To you mileage means nothing but many tuners out there brag about all thi increased hp AND how a properly tuned nine delivers better mileage, usually in the same sentence. so yes, there is a direct none cation between hp nd ful mileage,
