Default there is a tune for 2011/2012 ram hemi

I had an 09..LOVED it. Especially after putting a diablo perfromance tune on it. Woke the thing up, and changed it from a factory DETUNED slug to a nice beast. Anyway--that one got totalled by a sleeping driver.

so I picked up an 2012 some time ago. Love it as well..but have not ben happy with how sluggish it is. Clearly detuned at shift points, rev limits, pulled timing, and tons of torque nannys.

well, like all of you- been waiting for a tune. Well-- there is one out there and its a good one.

I am sharing this with the community- not to pump up a vendor- but to let you know it is out there.
I got it today- after getting one from the same company for my 2012 Jeep SRT8.

the truck is awake and alive now-- pulls harder, shifts firmer, throttle response MUCH better. Truck is faster...period. night and day difference.

B & G performance is where is got it (flashed PCM). This is a guy thats been specializing in Mopar for years and in fact- used to do tuning at Chrysler. You can find him with a simple google search.

So, is it a tuner or a replacement PCM?

why no videos from a dead stop? your RPM looks like it shifts right around where my truck did when i was running on a stock tune. Not bagging on your tune or anything. So with this so called tune, do you get an actual computer to adjust your truck yourself, shift points, rpm, tire size, mds on/off? What if you bring your truck to the dealer and they re-flash your truck...can you retune it yourself? I'm to lazy and hung over to read all that small print from his webpage..sorry

I'd like to see a video from dead stop and 0-60...I'm running 6.31 0-60 in my truck running a 91octane tune, 2 dudes in the truck and 3/4 tank of gas. I'm running a 09 HEMI, QC, K&N drop in and a Maggy Cat Back exhaust...

My 09 was Laramie was faster than the 2012 stock...period. But the 2012 was a SLUG until this tune. It is a flash of the PCM, or a replacement PCM if you do it by mail.

You do not get a computer to adjust yourself...you get what the PCM has. But it is the ONLY tune out there for the Hemi (2011 and later) and may be for a while.

You get raised rev limiter and shift points, torque management removed, speed limiter increased, better spark/fuel tables. ( in stock form these trucks severely pull timing at shift during WOT, this tune fixes that). It now feels like a 395 HP truck. Throttle response way better, cooling fan temp lower, etc.

If you have an 2010 or earlier, you can use diablo and have the ability to adjust some things yourself. But if you have a 2011 or later, this is the only game in town and is very similar to the canned diablo I had. It can be used with exhaust and intake as well.

I will do a 0-60 when it cools down. It is 96 degrees here and humid. Fuel mileage seems to be up as well, maybe 1 to 2 mpg.

Trust me...as an owner of my second ram, 3 diff SRT vehicles, plus two other late model Hemis....the factory retard built in is now gone and the truck is a different beast.

Well I have an 09 and I run SuperChips and I won't look back, it has been a great tuner. I love the ability to be able to flash it back to stock especially since I live up north bc the 93/91 tune is to aggressive for the winter roads. In about 8 days I'll be in FL and no longer dealing with that but still. I like being able to adjust my tune for my needs, adjust my shift points/TM/ Tire Size/ MDS on/off, set my fan cooling settings (will be helpful when I move to a hotter environment)...It's been rumored that SC will have the cracked tune by fall this year.

I just wouldn't want my truck tuned knowing I have to get another PCM by mail or go to him to get it flashed.....what a joke. So it's either let your truck sit until a new PCM comes or get my truck towed to his shop to get it reflashed if your truck won't start or has any kind of issues, from what I understand? Correct me if I'm wrong...

I'd drive a stock truck for the time being. Stock it's still faster than any of the other full size trucks out there (despite the ecoboost). Just my .02 cents, I would wait it out...but to each his own.

well the "rumor" the SC will crack the code is nothing but a rumor--its been out there forever, just like the rumor Diablo will. Its a rolling 128 bit, military grade encryption...I would not want to wager it will ever be cracked.

second, I live right by the tuner--no biggie to get flashed. But if I didn't, he will sell you a spare PCM. Third--my dealer wont flash over it if I ask them not to...I have bought a dozen cars from them. But-- I hear what your saying. Believe me-- If there was a SC option out there or Diablo-- I would go there. There isnt, an no real indication there will be any time soon.

lastly- stock, the eco boost is faster. sorry to tell you that- but 0-60, its the fastest truck out there. Ram is third behind that and the GM 6.2.

besides, I have go fast vehicles in garage..an SRT8 jeep and an 11 second BMW. I just want the ram to be its best..and from the factory-it is severely de-tuned. Just saying, there is one option out there today for those who want to correct that.

I wouldn't worry about how fast my truck is, its a truck not a sports car, 0-60 doesn't mean anything in terms of overall vehicle performance. Id be more interested in being able to get more power when towing and changing the shift points mostly. Better mileage would be nice too. I had a replacement PCM for 3 years in my SRT, I had no issues with it, I just made sure the dealer didn't flash it when I took it in, no big deal. When I sold the car I put the stock computer back in it and sold the aftermarket one for almost the same as I paid for it.

I am totally with you on that. A truck is about power and pulling IMO, and thats what I use it for. Yes there are those (and I mean no disrespect) that want their truck to go fast. That's to each there own...

I do however agree that the rams need a chip. I had an 07 with a bullydog GT, man did it open that hemi up! I think the biggest thing that I find at the moment is the response times. That is why the ram seems "sluggish" to other motors, but in the Rams defense I think it has to do a lot with MDS and the way the Hemi is built. Its the only truck that has this technology (working correctly and actually doing something) Yes MDS kicks in and out in .4 milliseconds, but I think the response to make that happen is slow. From what I saw in my tuned 07, its like it took that and basically told it to bypass all monitoring systems. When I punched on the throttle, the truck kicked out and went as you would expect it to.

You also have to remember to that the ecoboost is running a dual turbo setup. So once the truck is moving that truck goes! It does not have to worry about cylinder cutoffs or anything. Not to mention it is new technology. The Hemi needs none of that, and in my option it gets just about the same mileage!
My truck runs on 4 cylinders a lot, I keep it at 115km/h (seems to be where it likes it) and its pretty flat road out here. I do anywhere from 18-23 MPG (depends on the day) I have a buddy who just bought an ecoboost, he gets 22 tops! Where his motor excels is in the city, thats only because MDS is hardly running. HOWEVER when pulling this HEMI will outdo that ecoboost on mileage anyday!

This is all determined from my UNTUNED 2011, I am sure when I can get my hands on a tune it will be much better! Which I can say is coming!

I have a buddy who is a bullydog dealer and he has got his hands on a 2011 bullydog beta tune, he did say that you have to upgrade to a newer GT tuner, but from what I understood is the betas are under testing...I think we could see a tune in the fall...as far as superchips go I have heard nothing, just rumors as you all say. This is on a 2011 hemi, I don't know if the 11s and 12s use the same encryption or not.

As far as this PCM deal goes, I don't want to criticize either, but I would much rather wait for a tuner. What happens when your truck goes in for service? What happens if they hook everything up and re-flash it back to stock? I mean I am not saying its going to happen, but with some dealers you just never know. Some of them might even refuse to work on them if they find out you have a flashed PCM. Same way goes for tuners. In my 07 I had a dealer who refused to fix my exhaust when it came apart because I had a tuner hooked on my windshield!

What is going to concern me is the 2013s...They advertise a "beefier" computer system. In the fall I am going to upgrade to one, but i'm afraid that I am going to have to wait 2 years for a tune...
