Default Can I do 35in tires with no rubbing?

All
First I am new to this forum. I have a 2010 1500 Big Horn with 275/60/20 tires and just had a Daystar 2.5 leveling kit and 1in block in back installed. I would like to put 35in tires and new rims. I do not know what would be the best combination tire and rim size with no rubbing. I do like the AT Nitto Terra Grappler tires with all black MB TKO rims. I do not want to do 20 rims, 16,17 or 18 but do not know what works the best. I do pull a boat that is 5000lbs. with 35s will there be any other stress issues?

this is my first time ever upgrading anything and really do not know alot abouth this

any help would be great
thanks

Hey Ranger - not sure if this will help you or not, but I'm guessing 35's may be tight, especially if you do anything off road. I did a 4" RC lift and have 35" Terra Grapplers and still put 1/4" spacers all around to give me a little room. I had slight rubbing in hre rear wheel well when off road. I don't do heavy off roading, but I do go up and down some mtn roads a fair amount. Also, I did to the 35's on my stock 20 rims, so you may be able to find a better combo that makes things easier for you.

I'm about 10k in on the tires and lift and very happy with both. When these tires are done, I will be buying another set. I've pulled a trailer in heavy mud with those things and she didn't miss a beat.

Best of luck with what you decide and post some pics. Would love to see it!

Thanks for the reply, I did pull the trigger and got the 35x12.50x18 Nitto Trail Grapplers and have the Daystar 2.5 leveliing kit with a 1in block in rear. The only rubbing I get is when I crank the wheels all the way going slow - front barely rubs the inside of the wheel well plastic.

only a couple hunfred miles in but love these tires

not sure what tire pressure to have (right now at 40), I do pull a boat once a week (boat & trailer 5K)...........and very little off roading

thanks - I am trying to get my pics to load

Sweet setup!! Keep me posted on how you like the Trail Grapplers as you get in to 'em. Hoping my Terra's have a long way to go before I put on new tires, but I'd consider the Trail's ... sure look sharp!

I dont think it is the diameter as much as it is the width. Most larger tire install require more backspacing on the wheel to prevent the wheel from rubbing suspension components up front. When I had my Jeep I ran 35 inch tires on new wheels and I selected the wrong wheel and it rubbed when I turned lock to lock. Then I added 1.5 inch spacers, and the problem went away. it seems one can purchase new wheels and tires and go down to 18 inches and save money over buying 20 inch all terrain tires that have an od of 35 inches.

ive read you cant go over 11" wide on factory rims, trail grapplers come 35x12.5 but measure 35.04 x 13.39, a 295/65r20 measures 35.47 x 12.13 so a tad bit taller and narrower but would need a spacer for factory rim
