I think some guys are using the Autozone #4128. But, don't quote me on that.

I swapped my stat out awhile ago and I believe 4128 is the one I grabbed.

when I'm not sitting at a light....I want to say I'm sitting around 185. But along with that stat, I also have the v-6 efan installed and I have programed my efan to come on at 195.

I have the TYC e-fan and the autozone 4128 stat. My truck runs 177-183.

In high heat the truck will still run as hot as it did with a 195 stat. In cold weather it will run cooler. To lower temps lets say on a 95 degree day in traffic it either takes more fan or more radiator or both. Cooler thermostats also promote more rapid ring and cylinder wear. Your better off leaving well enough alone.

Tons of us use 180s in the earlier 3rd Gen HEMIs including myself. I sit at about 185*-188* with my fan that comes on at or around 180*

From what I've read a 180 is borderline on causing rapid or increased cylinder/ring wear. 160s can be very detrimental over time. There is a reason to keep the heat higher and its not just the old cliche its for emissions.

I agree with Houndog..... from what I've read, 190+ temps are required for engine block/cylinder expansion. The rings are still just as hot as before, and are already expanded. This increases pressure on cylinder walls, and rings/pistons... 190-195 design parameters are there to help with longevity/dependability, and longer warrantee parameters. You run the risk of invalidating a warrantee, running cooler than designed.
