I've sent enough samples to Blackstone to know that synthetic has advantages over conventional. Have seen it in writing.

That said, for the eight plus years I've had it, my truck "burns" or uses a little bit of oil between my 6,000 mile changes. Not enough to really need to add any, but I'll go from right at the full line to a fraction of an inch below at oil change time. Sometimes I'll squeeze in a little (about 3-4 oz.) of Lucas stabilizer in to bring it back up to the full line if I have more than 1000 miles left til change time...
