Have a 2011 Dodge Ram. First I got a message that the key was still in the ignition when it was not. Then tried spare key and now message reads key damaged and truck doesn't turn on at all, not even the radio will play, just completely dead, even though battery is fine. Must be a reset button somewhere but will have to tow to dealer in the meantime. No wonder they've recalled these

Have you disconnected the battery for a few minutes?

What model and type of engine do you have? I can see if there are any TSBs potentially related to your concerns. Please keep us posted on what the dealership says!

Disconnected the battery last night , didn't do any good, still did nothing when turning key. Towed truck to dealer today, took them all day to figure out it was WCM (wireless control module) in the ignition. Had to send to Atlanta for the part , they are supposed to have it fixed tomorrow. They say it will go WCM will go out with no warning, it just stops working (, one more thing , Right?). Just glad I had extended warranty, part alone runs About $700. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else, apparently its common in the Dodge Charger as well, but rare in the trucks (supposedly). Good luck, will keep posting if any new adventures occur.

Got my truck back today, dealer did a great job w/ repair and getting it back to me quickly. Apparently when the module goes out, that's it, you just have to replace it. Just be careful if you ever get a false reading of the key still being in the ignition, that is the only warning you get before it goes out completely. You get about 2/3 more starts after the initial message so to avoid being stuck somewhere ,use those last few starts wisely and get it to a dealer before you have to tow it there

I have a damaged keyfob message My Dart now won't start at all...I can lock and unlock my vehicle. But according to a post i read that doesn't matter when it comes to the issue you had. Is there any other way to tell without hauling my car to the dealership if it's the key fob or some very expensive part?

Thanks, Sblues71
