I'm new and have a question
Hello all, today I have been trying to search for an air intake for my 09' Laramie. Does anyone have suggestions on the best ones to use with increased horsepower and better fuel economy? Also one thats rather easy to install with out having to take my truck somewhere.
Thanks so much!

Unless you're looking for some under hood noise, the most efficient intake (so to say) you have regarding hp, mpg's, is already in place with the stock airbox. No CAI is going push enough power to be noticable with a 5,800 lb truck.
Powersedan touched on this....
But I do agree you won't see any power gains. You will notice more of a growl tho. If that is what you are looking for do NOT go and buy an aftermarket intake. Instead build your own. You wont find many threads on this 4th gen forum, but the 3rd gen is full of them. You can build your own intake for like 50 bucks and get the exact same gains. Not to mention get a better sound IMO. It is basically just built from PVC or ABS pipe, with a cone filter at the end. You can bend the pipe, paint it, do whatever you like with it .
Just don't go out and buy a 400 one, its a money grab IMO

I own an 09 Laramie as well, I've got the airaid MXP CAI and all it has done was make a louder growl from under the hood AND noticed that my MPG dropped quicker than with the stock air filter. Not so much of any HP gain but I do appreciate my mpg improving faster

Not to mention K&N are proven filters, if the "extra dirt" does damage to the engine K&N would know about it, also their users. There have not been any (to my knowledge) issues from motor damage due to K&N. So why worry?
