1.5" leveling kit
I'm interested in only putting on a small leveling kit as I have heard it will not affect the rest of the mechanisms as much. Is this true? Will it affect any warranties with that small of a kit?
I bought a 1.5" Daystar kit, but don't completely feel comfortable doing it by myself. I'm planning on having a friend come by and help me get it put in one of these coming up weekends. Any hints or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Is your truck 4x2 or 4x4?
Mechanisms... What are you trying to clarify with that? It can cause a few things if you have 4wd and it can cause premature wear on front end components. After installing get an alignment!

It's a 2WD.
I'm wondering mostly about front shocks. Should I put in longer shocks? I just want to do it for looks and don't drive my truck too aggressively or off road much. I may go camping once or twice a year with it and drive down a dirt road.
I have heard about the alignment. Planned on that. I just wonder if the factory shocks will "top out." Even with just the 1.5" spacer.
I'm brand new to the full-size truck game. Thanks in advance for the advice.

I do plan on putting stuff in the bed, yes.
Here's what I purchased: http://www.daystarweb.com/productdet...p?productID=14
Does loading up the bed affect the front a whole lot?
I'd probably put 300-400 lbs of stuff max in the bed a few times a year.
Anything else to consider with coil spring spacers?

99% of the time I won't have anything in the back. Yes. I will use it like a truck here and there, but I don't load it up daily. I'd like it to ride level and I like the look of the slight (read: 1.5") spacer lift in the front. I have already decided that I want to put it on. I'm OK with the back dropping down when I have something in there. I'm just asking advice for how to go about doing this. Any small tips and tricks would be appreciated.

I had a 2009 2wd that I installed the same kit on and it was super easy. It didn't completely level it so I still had a small amount that I could spare when I had the bed loaded. I actually towed a boat with it after and it wasn't all that bad. Save yourself the money and intall the kit yourself, then drive it down for an alignment before you do anything else. I wish I could remember what I did to install it but I think there is a video out there on youtube that shows the installation of that kit. There is also a guy on here that videod his installation as well.
Got it done!
Took way longer than I thought. The coil spring compressor tool I rented from auto zone was not any help at all getting those springs down. I ended up using ratchet straps. Probably should have died. It looks good. Once I get it cleaned up, I'll post some before/after photos.
For anyone wondering, the 1.5" front lift was the exact amount I hoped it would be to level things just a tad. The front should "settle" down a tiny bit, but overall I'm very happy.
Thanks for the advice, y'all.
