So i have a new 2012 ram 1500 hemi 4x2 and i am wondering what upgrades can i add that will not break the bank or void my lifetime warranty. I want to add a muffler of some sort to get the little bit deeper rumble and add a little more HP. would a cold air intake, performance chip etc help? Also for about a 100$ i can add a Throttle Body spacer what are the pro/cons of that? Thanks.

 

The best way to not break the bank is save your money and don't do anything. A muffler swap and CAI will only add noise, chips for your truck don't exist, and TB spacer won't do anything - i.e. snake oil.

Unless you purchased a service contract that was lifetime you do not have lifetime coverage. Warranty would be 3/36 basic and 5/100 powertrain if you are in the United States. Just an FYI.

 

12Sport nailed it.... leave it alone....!!! You start messin with it, the power will go backwards and so wont your mpg`s. And ther is NO chip or tuner available for 2012 ram trucks either. The 2011 and newer are LOCKED OUT...! Thats a good thing, now people can buy a "good used" 2011 & up and it hasnt been messed with by changing the computors/tuning.

 

Get some wind deflectors, an LED bar across the back under the tailgate, mud flaps, step bars, bed cover.
