I saw the old bearings they weren't totally busted just had excess play in them so the gears wouldn't be beat.

Hope it turns out ok. With the play you had in that video, the gears should be beat and probabally even chipped. If they are not then you/chrysler got extremely lucky.

Just be on the lookout for whine, that'll be a good indication that either the gears did not get reset correctly or there is a bad pattern/chipping from the previous problem. If they didn't replace the carrier bearings then there wouldn't have been any shim adjustment there, but the pinion depth would have needed to be rechecked with a new inner bearing - a lot of guys will skip that and say that the bearings are all the same.

Dodge 1500 trucks are know for rearends that go out nothing new I was told the same when i had my 2006 I had 98000 miles when I traded it in I never had any problems with it.

I made sure on my 2012 I got the Lifetime warranty this will be the last truck I ever going buy.

A new rebuilt rearend will cost about a grand+ out af pocket cost if not under warranty ask me how I know this my Ford truck went out before.

You sure love that lifetime warranty! No tease, just noted from recent posts, lol. I'm just reluctant to have the lifetime powertrain on my '09.

i'm a tech.was the rear end rebuilder at a couple ford dealerships.i never put a crown and pinion in and not the bearings or bearings without the crown and pinion.we only get paid once for the job.if it comes back we don't get paid.i just can't see someone doing half the job.the kit comes with everything you need other than axle seals and bearings

Huh? Obviously you would never put in a ring and pinion without replacing the bearings, since you need to reshim everything. What they did was just replace the pinion bearings, which are certainly available seperately.

read this slower old jeep.if the thing had that much play in the bearings the gears would have been too close or too far apart and cause damage to the gears.very simple term for ya. i know you can buy them separate but if you get the kit it comes with everything.look up flate rate techs.you might be able to understand it would be stupid not to bebuild everything if your not gunna get paid to do it when it comes back with a noise or vibration!

I uinderstand that the ring and pinion should have been replaced. What I could not understand was what in the world your first post was attempting to say. This one is a little easier to read, but I would suggest that you take a bit of time and try to write a coherent sentance.
