How to Replace Radio on 2012 2500 ST?
Pretty easy,
I actually make it harder than it was, I thought that the little tray came out of the top, to get to those two little torx bolts, but no, the little rubber flap comes out, very easy, then the the two torx bolts, and then, I thought the bezel just around the radio came out, no, the whole bezel pops right out, the whole thing comes out easy, used a trim tool on the bottom, got my fingers under one side, then the other, applied pressure, very gently, and from bottom to top, it came loose, then, unhooked the connectors to that panel, I think four connectors, all different connectors, and lengths, so, won't get them wrong when reinstalling, and then four regular bolts, pulled the old radio out, unplug big connector, little connector, and the white and yellow plugs, reverse the whole thing, done in 15 minutes,
I guess the radio I bought still had subscription time left, it worked when I turned it on, GPS too, and, found out, with 2012 dodge/ram, the SIRIUS radio now uses a dual antenna, so no need to buy a Separate GPS antenna, my old radio did not have the GPS, but now I do!
If anybody needs help in the Northern Virginia/DC area would be glad to help, and I'll keep checking it out to see if everything keeps working,
But really happy everything was so easy,
Now, we'll see if the Laramie wheels, with new Michelin LTX AT/2/s with Flea Bay TPMS work without stealership programming !
Got a lot more to do, already have done the under hood lamp, Laramie fender flares, duraliner bed liner, remote start, chrome bug shield, 130 RES to 430N swap, and,
Still want to add an overhead console for map lights, new front bumper with fog lights, side chrome moldings, fold flat floor, etc., I think I'll be in the dog house for a while,
Can't have any more fun than this!
