OEM black boards installed when I got the truck in 09. My wife and I step on them everytime we get in and out of the truck. No problems in almost four years.

I had issues with my mounting brackets rusting and, the boards peeling. The company that makes them told me it was normal. Problem is, the boards on my old truck went 6 years with absolutely no rust or paint peeling. I took them off to repaint and didn't realize the bolts were not in there with nut plates. Most of the bolts fell inside the truck panels and I can't get them out. Now I'm stuck with just the driver's side step side on and no passenger. They said they would send me new bolts (I only need 4). That was over a month ago and I haven't gotten anything. I think I posted something about it on here.

Default fix

Cut 3 6x4 prices of 1/8 th " flat steel. .
Use tracing paper. Place over rocker of truck trace where holes are and a square where the edges should be. Transfer drawing to steel plates. Drill holes for 3, 3/8th " bolts in each plate. Need 9. 3/8" x 1 "bolts .nuts and fender washers. I used stainless steel. Yeah I know over kill... Then bolt to running Bord brackets. Have friend help. You will need to enlarge holes to fit the nuts through. Take down weld nuts to back of plate. In bolt and paint rocker and plates. Bolt back up. Have friend help position on truck tack weld plates on. Un bolt. Finish your welds. Paint then bolt back up. There is someone out in internet land that sell the plates for $35 each. I made mine with scrap and spare nuts and bolts...
