Most all is normal. All the under carriage stuff, pipe, drive shaft etc is normal. Most all are like that. Mine is. My others cars, truck are just like your photos. Most of the interior is normal. It probably won't ever be any worse then what you see now. I do see one or two items that might be a little more then normal. Might be. . None of what you have pictures of will affect that vehicle in the time you own it. Maybe never. Just my opinion. I've seen lots of that in vehicle. Never really paid much attention to it. Most don't go looking in those areas. My 2003 diesel seat stuff and braces in the dash are more or less like what you have photos of. Guess you could spray some of those areas carefully with a clear rust preventer. Other then that you need another truck and I bet it won't be much different.

Wait and see hat others say. What did tech or whomever say about it? I don't think off roading really has much to do with it.

So rep from chysler looked at my truck and they stated its mostly just surface rust and now that the fixed me window leak it won't spread any further. He also stated its normal on all of there vehicles even claiming I could find it on anyone of there vehicles. Needless to say we got keys and started looking. None looked like mine and we looked at an 08 ram. When I told them I was going to show people that were at dealership to buy cars what chrysler says is normal they threatened to call the police if I did. I am not going to accept there answer and will be contacting a lawyer. A 37000 dollar truck with rust all over the interior is unacceptable.

The ones on the lot in a year or two will also look like yours. You need to look at 2 y.o. trucks to compare. As I mentioned I've owned and seen many like yours.Only never bothered me or had any customer/owners comment about theirs. Don't drive yourself or the service folks nuts over something that is of no consequence. If you own that truck 10 years, which you won't. It won't be any issue. Take some clear rust preventive spray and shoot the interior parts if it bothers you that much. Thats all Chrysler/Ram can do short of replacing the truck. Be polite to the REP and ask him what if anything HE can do for you and or to boost your confidence in the vehicle. Or if a tech can spend some time masking around interior parts that YOU point out and shoot the with clear rust preventive. There are a number of products out there. Ask it they will paint the items under the truck that you point out with black rrust peventive. But then BE DONE with the issue. This is the advise I have. None of the above will cost Chrysler much and may make 3 or 4 hours and some spray cans of rust preventive.

I checked on a buddies truck, no rust under dash, or storage areas,or tracks for seats. nada. Ill check and see about rust being brushed off and sprayed with preventer. They are going to have fun.

I have not ever looked at the parts in the interior of 2010s etc. like you have. I may be wrong and you may need to go after a lemon law. You just need to comp6are apples to apples. Same age, about same mileage etc. I do know I see minor surface rust in interior pieces in my trucks. My wife a time or two mentioned such as she put seat covers on two of ours.

I know it is a pain, I had a Caravan that just about drove me crazy with a water leak.

There is another thread hear about rear area leaks, rear brake light area, window seals and don't forget check where the rubber molding on the roof ends near the window. Just lift it up a little and make sure you have no open gaps or holes in this are near the window seal. If you do just seal with silicone.
