Default 4th Gen grill guard

I am trying to find some first hand info about mounting a grill guard on a 2012 1500 with a sport front end. I had a 3rd gen that I put one on with only minimal alteration. I have asked at 3 different shops, 2 accessory shops and 1 body shop that sells and installs accessories with no help. I even called one online supplier for help and no one so far has any idea if their unit will fit or what it might take to make them fit. I don't really want to buy one then try to make it work because there is probably some that will fit without too much trouble. Anyone mount one on theirs yet? Thanks.

Which grill guard are you looking to get?

I really like this one but something in stainless, just the center section with no wings over the headlights.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Well a grill guard has the wings over the lights, if you don't want those and just the center piece, then you want a bull bar. Go Rhino makes both of them and in chrome. This one also lets you keep your tow hooks!

I understand the difference, I was trying to find something I liked that would definitely fit without modifications. I know that on the 04 with this unit you had to trim some plastic to fit the sport but there is no mention of not fitting the sport on the 12 so was unsure about truly fitting.
Thanks

I called Go Rhino and they said you will be fine to just bolt it on with the 2012 sport front end. The trimming issues were with the older sport models so you should be all set

I've looked and looked.. There are lots of them on ebay specifically for the 4th gen ram. Most that I have seen bolt up from under the bumper so you don't have to modify anything. There is one that is bolted thru the lower grill so you do have to cut it.. Although I wouldn't want to cut the plastic grill, I like that one cause it bolts on higher than the ones that bolt on under the bumper..

Ordered but has not been shipped yet. I think they only make the bull bar (center section only) when needed. I will post photos and or info as soon as I get it.
