Default 30k plug change and now a/c issue..Possible warranty gouging

I am all about doing all my service work but having the lifetime warranty wanted to have the dealer do the plugs per records. SO oil change, spark plugs and an alignment done. I go to pick the truck up and the A/C is not working. Ac clutch not engaging either. Took it right back and started complaining. After pissing off everyone I could and talking to the lead tech he tells me that within the 6 hours my truck was there the freon in the ac was gone..... WTF????!!!!! So he rechagrd the system before I left an now is all good. He is telling me I may have a leak. BIG BS. 2009 and only 29k on my truck and have had no major issues. He told me I may have a leaky hose then he said the condenser may need to be replaced... Sounds like warrenty gouging to me. I will be going to another dealer if any other problems arrise. Couple of questions and forgive me I do recall a previous post but is there a dye in the freon in these trucks and has any one else had an issue whith a dealer purging you ac system hoping you dont notice and have to return???? Thanks.

I do not believe there is dye in the a/c coolent.

Did you consider your A/C issue could just be coincidence to your plug change?

I have used service department from three different dodge dealers for my 2009 Ram. I have had no issues with any one of them. In fact, they seem to go the extra mile to ensure my Ram stays in good condition. And No, I have not had any one of them "purge" my A/C.

I highly doubt a dealer would pull such a stunt. They are all very reliable and truthful. Sounds like a bad coincidence to me personally.

Do I detect some sarcasm? Regardless, havent seen threads here about bad condensors. Dye is added for leak detection, it is not present in systems by default from factory. Lets see how long this charge will last.

So this morning I have no A/C. Called the dealer and informed them and now they want me to take my truck back in. Tech still says the condensor is leaking and they have to do a diagnostic. I have a feeling that during my visit they may have leaned or put pressure on one of the a/c componets and that is why it now not holding freon. Any thoughts?

Sounds reasonable. You do have to get all over the engine when you do your plugs, seems reasonable that they could have leaned on something in a bad way. I know when I did mine I was practically laying on top the engine.

May not be just warranty gouging....Do you have a deductible? When I had my valve stems (Wheel) replaced because they were cracked, I thought they were a defective part, but they made me pay the $100.00 deductible. I am still fighting on that one. They would not give me back the stems as they said they had to send them in to get paid. I could have had them rebuilt for $9.00 at the tire store I found out today when I was getting tires put on my wife's car. Pisses me off to no end.

So the service writer tells me he will call me back in 5 mins. Again for the third time doesnt call and I have to call him back. Now he says my warrenty calls for a 100 dollar deductable but they will cover a full size rental. WTF. So I tell him I just spent over 400 at your shop and now my ac doesnt work and now I have to pay another 100. BS. He said his boss would be calling me on Monday. Will see what happens....

So I never get a phone call today but saturday I call another dealer that is not as close to me. He stated that hey recieve 1-2 cutomers a week leaving that dealer and commuting further to them. He also was very detailed and in depth about my warrenty and what it covered. What do you know, My warrenty covers a rental car for anything I bring it to the dealer for. What *******. So truck is at the farther dealer and will give feedback. Oh and for the rental car hassle got a 95 dollar a day car 10 bucks.
