Default Spacer for 305/55R20 OEM wheels

Did some searching around and couldn't find the exact answer so thought I would make a new post.

Picked up some 305/55R20 Mickey Thompson MTZ's (33 x 12.x) and mounted them to the stock 20" chrome clads (off a 2012 1500). Of course can't mount them yet to the 2011 since no spacer.

Looking at spacers but want to keep it as close to the truck as possible (ruling out 1"+ spacers - I don't want to have to get flares and would get tickets here if the tires stick out). What is the minimum required to fit these tires with no rubbing? Also - is a hub-centric spacer required/recommended? If so, any recommendations as to where I can look to order some?

Thanks in advance!

Are you sure you need a spacer?. Maybe a 1/4 at most but doubtful. I have 315s and used a 1/4 spacer

Hey there, I bought a 2009 Laramie with the 20" chrome clads. I put the Nitto Terra Grapplers on in the size you mention and did need a set of spacers. I purchased a set of hub centric billet spacers from Motorsport technologies. These are not the cheap stamped units you buy at Autozone. I have since went back to a stock size tire and no longer need these 1/4" spacers. I paid over $200 for them. The are very high quality and fit directly over the 5 lug bolt pattern and are designed to use with the chrome clad wheels. I'll sell for $100 bones....

Have you tried the wheels and tires on the truck? theres been lots of debate on the 305's fitting or not, some trucks it works some it doesnt.
Seems like the stock 20" laramie wheels allow more room than the stock 20" sport wheels
Most guys are using 1/4" spacers to run 305's and I'd definately get hub centric if you dont want to run into balancing issues.

I might be interested in your spacers? How much thread did you have exposed when using the spacers? I have 22's on my truck, but want to move them out a little. I thought about going back to stock 20's. Let me know if you are still interested in selling.

Hey Daniel, I know there was plenty of thread left using these spacers otherwise I'd never have used them. I carry my 4 y/o son routinely. Nothing I'd skimp on concerning saftey. Seems like I got at least 15 or so revolutions on the lug nuts. I still have these spacers if you are interested. PM me and we'll work out the details.

Thx Shawn

I ended up not using spacers. Tried them, but lugs were constantly backing off (scary haha). Got new wheels with 0 offset and they fit perfect. They do stick out a bit but I got a good deal on a set of Bushwackers so I will throw those on soon.
I'll take a few pics and post later.
