Default cost of adding oem gps radio system with uconnect & mopar

I just purchased a new 2012 with mopar and uconnect. I would like to add the gps system that is shown in the manual. Does anyone have an idea what that might cost me and how i can get a good price on this.

Thanks
pingram

I shopped around ebay for a bit and got a 730n for $600 and it included the GPS receiver. To add the mic is your choice. You can get the stick anywhere one for about $40 or you can get the mirror one for quite a bit more. Either way it is all mostly plug and play depending on which model you have.

Oh, to add, make sure you get the high speed bus version. The low speed bus will not work on your year.

boy i sure would like to know how you did that, my search on ebay came up with 1296.00. I already have mopar and voice connect, which is separate, is there a unit that is just the remaining unit for navigation.

I think i need to find an electronics dealer that works with this stuff and see if I can beat the factory price.

thanks

I just stalked ebay for a few days until I found one. It seems to work better if you search for the specific model number (i.e. 730N).

I had the same thoughts when I bought my truck this past summer. For me it seems like I can get much better equipment for less $$$ aftermarket vs factory. Plus I am not sure what bits and pieces I need to get for the factory set-up.

I'm assuming you have the RES radio (look on the lower right hand corner of the radio for the three letter code)..

For the easiest upgrade, choose the RHB model, This will be plug and play. It has the Garmin based GPS system in it which some seem to prefer.

If you can get the top of the line RHR radio, It has the Navteq GPS system in it. It also will accept voice commands so you can put a new destinatoin in while driving. This upgrade will require a new cable purchase from Dodge for about $100 to reroute the microphones located in the mirror wired directly to the radio as this radio has the Uconnect system built in. You will also need to disconnect the existing Uconnect module.
