2010 4x4 Laramie crew Tire Info
Thanks for all the info everyone puts on here regarding tires. It was nice to have a source. I thought I should add my recent experience with two different sets for others needing info. Went to NTB and got Cooper Zeon LTZ's they rode a lot rougher than stock Wrangler HP's but otherwise seemed fine may have hurt MPG but not as sure as on the second set. I had a vibration they couldn't get rid of so they refunded money, kudos. Went to a great local place and bought BFG All Terrain KO's in 275/65 20 and they DO rub when at full lock i had read on here this size was fine. The KO's KILLED mpg. I make a 380 mile round trip drive hunting every weekend and average at least 18.6 mpg and if I take it easy I can get 19.1. This weekend I got 14.1. Also, still vibrating so I figure it's the driveshaft or u-joint if anyone knows anything about that, only at high speeds, 71+
If anybody has good gas mpg experience with an all terrain tire on same truck I would appreciate the info.

I have been extremely happy with my Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor. I would recommend them to anyone.
However, if you want a more aggressive tire, you are most likely going to suck up some MPG loss. AT tires weigh more, and more rotating mass = less MPG.

Ditto, ran them on my '03 and they will be next on my '11. Great in snow, good enough off-road, quiet, and mpg was not affected very much. I stuck with the P-series. No need for the E-rated in my case.

I expected some mpg loss but 4.5 mpg?? I talked to my tire guy and he said in 20 years he hasn't seen that much of a difference with the small size change I made.

I put on the Cooper Zeon LTZ tires after my stock ones faded away. As you mention, they do ride a little rougher. They seem stiffer and/or heavier than the OEM Goodyears. But wow, the traction increase is dramatic. I really like them for this aspect, as well as their good looks. I don't know that they have affected MPG much.

Have you investigated if there is another cause for the drop in MPG? Maybe it's time for a tune up? Or something else is in need of being replaced.
