Default Factory Fog Lights

With the older rams that came with factory fog lights that only work with the low beams you used to be able to get a bypass switch that allowed you to operate the fog lights indedendently of the headlights. In speaking with our local Chrysler dealer they tell me with the 4th gen Ram the fog lights and high/low beams are all activated through the computer. Does anyone know about a system you can get to reprogram the computer to allow independant operation of the fog lights?

I highly doubt it. Dodge uses a canbus system now that basically controls everything...You still have some control via your headlight switch, IE turn the fogs on or off by pushing the button. However the switch still has to be on for them to work, and you can't be on high beam. Except in the case where you use a tuner, because you can select them to stay on with the highs. (I have done just this)

However if you want a separate switch for them altogether, my guess is your gonna have to do some wiring. This is one downfall of all newer vehicles, but its happening so we must get used to it. You would think with all the electronics in these trucks it would be easy, but the saying we all know "easier said then done" comes into play...
