Default Side mirror Removal and Dissasemble

hey guys kinda my first post after my greet.. anyhow been searching for a few days about rearview cameras and front view etc... recentely y installed a lockpick v.5 on my Sport 2011 and looking to hook up some sideview mirror cameras for the "blind Spot" view already bought two cameras to install on them but could not find any info around here about Sideview mirror disasembly... can anyone input some info on this... ..

I haven't tried to take one apart, but removal is like any other vehicle. Remove the inner door panel and flag cover. To remove the door panel you just take out all of the fasteners along the bottom edge of the panel, pull out the power window switch and remove the screw and bezel behind the door pull. The flag cover just pops off.

Unplug the wiring harnesses from inside the door and then remove the bolts holding the mirror on that are under the flag cover.

Cool i will try .. also reason for disassemlby i that i want to take apart the actual mirror So i drill a small hole to install the little camera and i can run the wire through the actual mirror incase ... anyhow thanks

My .02 - buy the towing mirrors and skip the cameras. You don't want to be looking at your radio when you are changing lanes

Thanks... kinda already bought the cameras so might as well try them... thought about the tow mirrors but did want to lose the nice Led puddle lights.... also did not want to add the bigger mirrors.. thanks for the input ...

The towing mirrors also have the puddle lights.

Tow mirrors won't fit in everyone's garage, without folding........

Tow mirrors don't stuck out much more, if any, than standard mirrors when in their normal position.

Ok guys recieved the cameras today gonna install on the Sidemirror adn connect to The"lockpick v.5" . will post back tonight if I am succesfull...... if anyone does have some info on the sidemirror it would be greatly appreciated...

"not much more" is relative....... my regular mirrors have 1/2" clearance on each side in my garage door opening..... Tow mirrors won't go in - I tried them.

Of course, I could auto fold them by touching the jambs, but think it might be detrimental in the long run, and would leave me zero clearance for backing out.....
