Default Rear end rebuilt

I had my first issue of any concern with my Ram in 31,000miles. About a month ago I started tohear a whine from the rear end. It wasmost noticeable between 40 and 20 mph during deceleration. There was no vibration noticed in steeringwheel or petals. I took it into thedealer today. They determined the noisewas a pinion bearing had failed. The failure was not related to the pinion nutcoming loose issue some have experienced.

Bottom line the rebuilt the real end. BRG Kit differential side, space- drivepinion bearing, seal – drive pinion, gear kit – ring and pinion, bearin – drivepinion, BRG Kit drive pinion, lubricant and sealer.

Took the truck in at 0730, they were done at by 1330. Noiseis gone and the truck is running smooth and quite again. It wasall covered under the lifetime power train warranty. So the total cost was $0.00. The dealership provided me with a ride homeand pickup when the truck was ready. Thedealer was able to pull up my records and it showed all the maintenance hadbeen done on schedule.

Larry Miller Dodge (Peoria, AZ) was great to work with. No hassle. The mechanic finished the job in a reasonable time, and no residual oil/grease anywhere to beseen. I have used this dealershipservice department before (30K) service. I feel they are reasonable and do quality work.
