Default Rear Tail Light not flashing

Left-rear tail light in my 09 Ram 1500 won't flash when I use the turn signal, but illuminates just fine when I apply the brakes.

When I use the turn signal, the left-turn arrow on the dashboard blinks double-time like I have a burned out light, but obviously it's not burned out since it comes on fine with the brakes. I'm guessing I can't fix this just be replacing the bulb?

Try another bulb anyway, weirder things have happened. And its a cheap fix if thats all it is. Also check the front turn signal to MAKE SURE its working.

Thanks for the response. This turned out to be a simple fix, with a $6, dual-element bulb. One of the elements was burned out, but not the other. That's why the brake lights worked normally, but the flashers did not.
