Exclamation Truck Got stuck an had to get it Towed out

hey everyone, I'm new here have had my 2012 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew cab Big horn since last summer.

So the issue that i'm kinda freaking out about right now is, I had got it kinda stuck the other day in some snow so I called a tow truck.

The tow truck showed up hooked up to my hitch and told me to put it in neutral. so he pulled me back about 50ft truck running and in Neutral in 2wd possession . Now my questions is did i do this right because I only had the shifter in neutral and not the neutral button on the dash pushed in. could i have screwed anything up? kinda freaking out a lil

Brian

It was in neutral, its fine. The transfer case was spinning, but it doesn't matter - not like you were having it flat towed for a hundred miles.

I agree with Oldjeep. 50ft most likely isn't anything to worry about. How does the truck run now? 4WD working? If everything seems fine should be no problem.

If you were winched out in n your ok forwards or back wards your drive wheels are still turning, if your locked in 4low or 4hi than your adding stress to the drive train.

Too manny things go wrong pulling out Trucks stuck in 4wd with the stuck trucks driver foot barried in the accelerator.

First of all you weren't stuck! Rams don't do that. You just needed a tow. LOL

50 ft in with the transmission in neutral, you didn't hurt anything at all. Have you ever coasted in reverse, if so your doing the exact same thing you were doing right there..
