Question about 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 Bumper
In any event - making repairs to a rental car doesn't sound like the brightest idea. Fess up and pay the piper.
Anyway, there are a couple of other options you have to watch out for that I forgot: backup sensor holes & dual exhaust. Mainly both were on higher end models.
I had the rear bumper replaced on my '09 SLT. Chome, no special sensors or dual exhaust. Cost for the new OEM bumper was $570 (I could have bought it for around $400) with all of the plastics and brackets included. I think there was a 1 hour labor charge by the body shop. Anyhow, the body shop guy asked me if I wanted to just have a bumper shop repair the bumper for a lot less than the new one, since my neighbor was footing the bill, I chose a new one. Go to the nearest body shop and get an estimate for having the bumper removed, fixed and reinstalled. You may be surprised. Probably less than $1000. Or if you want to do the removal yourself, ask the body shop where they send the bumpers for fixing.

I agree, I was having body work done also, so I let my neighbor pay for the whole bill since he ran into it. By the way, labor hourly rates for body shops in southern California are $48, same rate for the 3 estimates I got. It may be worth it depending on how much they charge to get a bumper straightened. My body shop said it's about half the cost of a new bumper.

Newport,
If you are having any hesitations you might want to consider contacting a Ram dealer's parts department. They can check the vehicle's VIN# and provide rear bumper part #s. If you speak to a dealer they can confirm compatibility with the exact model that you have rented.
