Default Dual Fan?

my 04 dakota had an engine fan and an electrical fan, so the easiest free mod was to take off the engine fan. i looked into the rad of my 09 ram and it looks like an electrical fan in there. anyone know if there is one for sure or they have taken off their engine fan? thanks

I have no clue, but why would you want to remove something that has a purpose of keeping your engine cool and risk overheating if one failed for a lousy 2-3hp? If that's even what you would gain?

there is no risk. i towed a 4000 lb trailer from canada to arizona and back with no issues at all. 2-3 mpg is a big deal for me because i commute to work.

If you can get an electric fan that can move more or the same air volume as the current electric AND clutch fan combined, then I would say go for it.

Indeed there is a risk. What were the weather conditions on your trip and did you run the AC?

cold in canada, 70-75 in the us. the temp gauge didn't move. all the newer vehicles are going to electric only. on the 3rd gen sites the guys are putting in 3.8l ford fans and taking off the engine fan.

It is a couple of horsepower not 2 to 3 mpg. If it was mpg just about everyone here would be without the engine fan.

Yeah, in the South or when the US hits summer temps, that will be really risky, especially at low speeds or if you get stuck in traffic. I'm all for ditching the clutch fan though if you can get a good volume from electric.
