Default air bag vs stiff coils

Hi all. Just looking for some personal experiences some of you may have had with either using air bags or replacing the stock coil with a stronger version. I have a 2012 1500 sport CC, levelled, 392's, 35's etc and I use my truck for yard work (top soil, mulch etc) and I also have 28 ft travel trailer (5700 lbs) that my family and I use every other weekend. I have a distribution hitch and it works well, but I still find the stock coils to be terribly soft. A load of top soil or mulch pretty much sinks it. My local off road shop has recommended air bags or stiffer coil which I was already aware of. So basically I'm just looking for input from those who have already done so to assist with my decision. I did a search on the forum already and found a few things, but I'm gonna throw this out there anyway. Thanks ahead of time.

Justin

Air bags will allow you to keep the current spring rate and ride quality. Stiffer springs are more durable and less prone to a failure, but will make your truck ride more rough.

If you and your family don't mind a stiffer ride, go with the new coils.

If I go with an aftermarket coil, will that affect my ride height in the rear? Am i wrong to assume that the aftermarket coil would maintain the same ride height? I know this is something I could easily ask the shop but your answers are also appreciated. Cheers.

If it were me, I'd go with air bags. Nothing wrong with stiffer coils but with air bags you have more wiggle room with how stiff you want it to be in the rear depending on the load you have. Air bags might be more expensive, I'm not sure.

What air bags did you have...???? If they were external, i can see that happining.
The air lift 1000 goes inside the rear springs on the 4th gen 1500 trucks... they cant come out.

Ive been running the Air Lift bags on my Ram for a few years now and fill them to 35psi when towing my 31' travel trailer. Does a real nice job stiffening the rear suspension with gear in the bed and the tongue weight of the trailer (in addition to weight distro hitch). The whole setup sits nice and level when towing.
