Default recall update?????????????

Well folks, we had a new arrival this afternoon! My second "safety recall notice". So, I called my dealer and was promptly informed once again that there are NO parts available as of yet from the company!

WTF! So the second notice was for what???????????

Did you read it? I just received one yesterday for an emissions label update N24.

They want you to put a label over the old one, but I had no label included with mine. Either it fell out in the mail or they forgot to include it.

I got the label as well. There was nothing different on it from the original. I put it over the old one anyway.

I just had my truck in for two seals that were leaking under my truck. Output shaft on the transfer case and the pinion seal. They supposedly changed both. Still no recall parts. I firmly believe there never will be either. The service adviser said he saw a picture of what they are supposed to be putting on. Basically looks like a wheel bearing nut retainer. You know the kind that fits over and you bend the tab down then stick a cotter pin through it... yeah like that. Going on 8 months now for my recall.
While at the dealer I asked about getting a rear brake jobs with rotors and pads as mine are pulsing pretty hard now. Over $500.00 The same adviser told me I wouldn't be able to do it cheaper as I would have to ship in the rotors. Ummm....yeah thanks.

Your love for dealerships is starting to show its true colors...lol.
Well, at least you now know why i have no love for them either.

I got a question on this. A while back when my truck was at the dealer I noticed before hand that I had some fluid sweat on both sides of the rear axle next to my diff. They blew me off and said sometimes the diff is overfilled from the factory. Whats with that? Do I need seals or something? Thx.

Check the vent tube going up the left side of the frame. Make sure it's not plugged.

As far as the "recall" goes I've heard a Chevy silverado pinion nut fixes it. They are a pinch nut so it can't back off.

Do your own recall. Fix your own issue and be proactive. Don't wait on chrysler. If you believe it will happen anytime soon I'll sell you oceanfront property in Arizona.

Well I keep watching the nut on my diff. That is why I noticed the fluid flinging onto my gas tank and up under the bed/exhaust etc. Now they said my transfer case seal was leaking as well but I never saw that. Probably just after some warranty work......

Ramluv,

Are you referring to the M34 recall? I know those parts are starting to become available to the dealers. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. I would suggest contacting your servicing dealer as the part should be available shortly.

If you are having any concerns after speaking with the dealer Service Manager or have any questions please feel free to PM me.
