Bluetooth question
So i just bought a 2013 ram with no touchscreen. Is there anyway to get bluetooth for the trucks standard radio ? Or would it just be easier to buy a stand alone system. Im not worried about price if it comes through the speakers and keeps me out of a ticket. Also i want to keep the stock head unit.
Thanks

In 09 I now you could (I almost ordered one like that), but if you have the "uconnect 3.0" in your 13 it does not look good. Even if you got a used 5.0 I would think you would have possible missing wires, and at a minimum no mic (located in the mirror if I am not mistaken), especially if you have an Express, which I suspect you do. You will be much better off doing something aftermarket as you mentioned.

Per a Dodge service bulletin, for 2013, whatever radio you get from the factory you are stuck with, except an 8.4 can be flashed for $ to add the NAV feature. The bulletin also said there are no plans for upgrade modules at this time.
Because of the new electrical architecture of the 2013's, the aftermarket has not yet come up with dash kits or wire harness adapters.
The good news for any 3.0 Uconnect owners is that the radio is very basic and not integrated with a host of other features for truck. You can actually remove the radio, and the truck and other features will work just fine.... That means you don't NEED a wire harness adapter.
You can install a double-din aftermarket head unit, with NAV & bluetooth. You will lose the use of the USB and accessory jack in the console, you will need to splice into the OEM wire harness for speakers & power, you will need to cut the rear support for the factory OEM radio, and you will need to do some minor custom faceplate work to cover gaps in the OEM radio dash.
Either this forum or another Ram forum, there is a post where a guy installed amp, speakers and aftermarket head unit in his 3.0 Ram. It's not rocket science, but not as easy as having a dash kit and wire harness adapter(s).
If you go to a good stereo shop, they should be able to pull it off fairly easily.
I plan to wait another month or two for the aftermarket to come up with install kits because I don't like to cut into the OEM wiring. If they don't come up with something soon, I'll be installing a Kenwood Double din NAV unit the old fashion way....
Good luck with your upgrade....
