Gen 3 2500 hitch on gen 4 1500??
Hey all,
I have a hitch off of a ram 2500 gen 3 sitting in my yard and just picked of a 2013 1500. Before I drag this thing to my driveway is there a chance it might fit? :crossesfingers:

Well, looking at the Rigid Hitch site I see that there are several part numbers of class IV hitches in common between a 2013 1500 and a 2008 2500 (gen 3). Seems like at least some mounting is common between the two. If the hitch you have has a brand name on it then check the manufacturer web site to see if parts are in common between the two trucks. If it is Dodge OEM you may not be able to do that. At that point all you can do is start measuring things or just try holding it up and see.

Looks like its a mopar "receiver kit, trailer tow" with a number of 82212510. I'll do some research to see if it fits. Unfortunately it's at another house so I can't just grab it and try.
Well, I gave it a shot today! I dragged it out and started measuring. Sure enough the fame was the same width, holes lined up great! I took off the bumper and had to take off the bed bolts to lift the bed to,slide on the new hitch. After sliding it on it hit something! It was the spare tire
. Looks like the CC trucks have the spare tire too far back so you can't slide on a full hitch! If I had 2 extra inches it woulda fit! I even got it all setup on the bumper bolts and it fit there too.
I'm guessing this hitch WILL fit a gen 4 QC because of the longer bed, but my CC had the spare tire in the way. Boo! Looks like I'm in the market for a hitch...
