Default Ambient Air Temperature

I picked up a '13 BlackOut Edition w/ the 7in dash. I noticed there was not an outside temperature indication anywhere. I asked the dealer about it and after some investigating found that the truck was not built with one. They have been putting temperature sensors in vehicles for decades. How do you not build a truck with one? Does anyone else build not have one?

Isn't it in the EVIC (info center in middle of dash)?

Blackout edition is just a silly name they give to one of the stripped down Express trucks, and the express doesn't come with temp or compass

Well, that sucks. Seems like a stupid feature to leave off.

OP - Can I interest you in one of these?

My '12 express has temp display in the center of the cluster. You scroll through it with odo, tripmeters, and eco on/off

I looked there also, no luck. The sales/service guys are also confused about this one. What I am going to do is buy the sensor and see what happens.

My BlackOut is more of a stripped down SPORT.

Dodge says it is an express - with the sport carlike bumpers. In any event if you look on the Ram website it clearly shows that the Express doesn't get the compass/temp.

For clarificaton, the sensor is there. You just have no way to read it inside the truck.

Only problem with this is that my truck has the compass.

I know the thread is old. I have been out of the loop for a bit but I am back.
