Default Bully Dog on my 2013 Ram 5.7 Hemi

I am looking for information on how to fine tune my Bully Dog GT for maximum power for least amount of gas cost. By the way I feel that the Truck runs best on regular settings. I just don't know enough about the limiter settings. Also, what is the exhaust settings (pyro)? Thanks for your help.

FYI those two goals are diametrically opposed...

You can have one or the other. Not both.

Thanks for the comments. So, what the companies say is bogus. You can't get more HP and fuel economy at the same time. Then two separate tunes are needed one for max power out and one for best fuel economy.

Tuners normally have an "economy" tune available. That tune on my superchips was actually counterproductive, as it "de-tuned" the engine so much you have to constantly mash the gas pedal to go anywhere. My guess is the economy tune combined with a light right foot and the understanding that you are now driving a slower vehicle could lead to some mileage benefits. I never saw any.

Bully Dog GT has Stock, Regular and Premium. I run on Regular because when I tried Premium the gages seemed to go screwy. I would like to know how changes to the settings for the limiters affects things and what warning indicators to set for pyro monitors.

Tuners usually come with performance and or economy tunes. Economy usually is normal power output above 50% throttle but from 0 to 50% they increase fuel mileage by detuning . So to get going you need 50%+ throttle. Performance tunes add power. A lot....including me on an f150, notice mileage increases also. More power and torque means it's easier for your vehicle to do the tasks it did. So you can back off the pedal a little more to achieve the same speed as before. Sometimes this is not true. I loaded an 87 performance tune on my 08 V6 f150 and was getting more power and gas mileage combined with a k&n intake. I bought the truck new and averaged 19, 19.5 with k&n drop in, 20.5 with intake and 22 to 23 with tune. Going 55mph I got 26.3mpg. In my ram with cruise with intake only I got 25.5 with cruise on at 55 but it down shifted twice going down steep hills so I know I could have gotten more. Btw the trips were the trip home from work. Same start and stop. 23 miles with some downhill. Same trip other way I got 21 in the f150 and 18 in the ram. It takes a decent amount more gas for uphill and normal acceleration. Btw f150 reg cab shortbed 2wd 4.2L V6 5spd manual with 3.55 axle, ram reg cab shortbed express blackout edition 4x4 with 5.7L 6spd auto and 3.21 axle

I noticed it takes a lot less pedal to reach speeds. My ram seems to get to 55 a lot quicker and with less effort. 70 and 75 miles per hour is a breeze meaning the engine is not working as hard.
