2012 ram brake controller wiring
I have a 2012 ram 1500 express with only 1 plug to install the factory brake controller I know this site has a ton of post on this issue but I can't seem to find an answer. Has anyone figured out how to hardwire the 2nd plug so you can use the factory controller.
I found this:
https://dodgeforum.com/forum/4th-gen...ontroller.html
After reading it, I have to wonder if the guys with 1 connector have Factory Tow Prep packages with 7-pin harness...or just the standard 4 pin tow plugs? If that's not the case I wonder if it has anything to do with the Evic overhead console options?
Read this sellers instructions for looking for the pigtails. It goes along with what the link above states:

I am going to take a wild guess here. That for the guys who have 2 plugs(Evic consoles) have to have the controller programmed. BUT the guys who have one plugs (non-evic) don;t need programming.
I am willing to bet if this is the case, then its easily bypassed by wiring up the second plug yourself even if its there to avoid program fees at the dealer!!
You can buy the pigtals and wire it in yourself(not sure if this is the style you need?):

Direct plug n play(I think aftermarket only?):
