Default LSD upgrade on a 2013 1500 express

I screwed up and didn't get the LSD option on my new Ram express. I know i'll probably have to shell out double or triple the cash now but what should i expect to pay for a complete factory Mopar installation at the dealership?

I wouldnt go OEM LSD. Get yourself an Auburn if your in warm climates and a Detroit TruTrac if you are in cold weather climate. The DTT is slightly more expensive but is much better for slippery conditions.

The OEM LSD is known for problems and is not all that great either.

If you really want an OEM unit, I'll sell you mine which only has 16kmi on it. You can have the bearings and races as well. I changed the diff fluid at 800miles and again at 10kmi. it's in perfect shape and would be an easy swap.

Ohh, sorry. Never fully answered..
OEM unit from Dealer will probably be $600 or so plus any misc parts needed. Then another $400 for install.

Better check who made the rear end on the 2013, I don't think they use the corporate 9.25 anymore.

Yup. You are right. Just looked into it.
2013+ are made by Borg-Warner.

My $1k quote still holds true. That's about the average for any LSD install. Might be a little cheaper, but not by much!

Agree 100%, DTT and most shops want $350-$400 labor plus parts per pumpkin. I was going to do the same thing but after driving my '09 open with the electronic anti slip, I've found that it's almost as good as my previous factory LSD, and it will not wear out.

I agree I screwed up also and didnt get limited slip I asked for it but didnt do my dillagence and check before I bought. But I really like the performance of the open diff so far so adding lsd isnt on my mind. Maybe it wojld be if there was a front diff option to add lsd but there is not so im just going to leave it alone
