Default Remote Start problem

Hi Guys, New to forum.

I just bought a new to me 2010 Dodge Ram SLT Hemi... love it, runs perfect...

Only issue I have is the remote start seems faulty (or I am faulty).

1. Start truck by pressing remote start twice
2. Truck Starts, and idles perfectly
3. Press door unlock, get in truck
4. Insert key, turn to ON
5. Truck stalls

This happens about 9/10 times...

Any ideas? Problems with the steps? Do I need to turn around three times outside the truck first before entering? Pray to the dodge gods first?

Thanks for the help, sorry if I posted in an incorrect place... feel free to flame the hell out of me!

Thanks
N

Welcome to DF.

Actually, you need to pray to the Fiat Gods now, since those now own the Chrysler Gods, which in turn own the Dodge Gods...

Seriously though, I will move your post to the correct spot, get you some answers.

That has not happened to me yet and I use it damn near every day. And we are talking about the factory remote start right?

Is there any messages in the EVIC when it happens? The first message I see is "Insert key & turn to on", then when the key is inserted it changes to "Turn to on". Do you get those exact messages?

a) Yes, factory installed
b) No messages in EVIC
c) Message on EVIC when I get in says something about remote start active - key to run... not an error message in sight.

Thanks
Nick

Maybe your tapping the brake, that will shut it down.

Nick,
Seems i`ve heard of this happening to someone else not long ago, i told the guy to replace the hood switch, problem went away. So it might be a bad hood switch. Maybe try opening the hood and re-close it, see if that makes any difference.

OWENSUE... good call... worth a shot...! I`ll have to try that on mine when i leave for work and see if it does that to my truck.

Not the brake... have tried both ways, foot on brake, foot off brake.

It was working yesterday, and that was after I lifted and closed the hood... might be the hood switch.

Will keep you updated.

Thanks
