I agree with that_guy, LEDs inside the halogen housings = No good.
They are very unidirectional and do not work well with a reflector based set-up.

I was thinking the same thing when he told me about these LED's but he says these are not the typical LED bulbs that are a bunch of LED's all over a plastic rod. Apparently (and it remains to be seen as of now) these use two high power LED's that are on the same axis as a Halogen bulb filament. He said he would do the install and if i didn't like them would give me a full refund. So this will be an experiment at best.

It's just going to be a waste of time. It's not possible for them to both be on the same axis as the filament just because of the size of the emitters themselves, and they only emit light in one direction as apposed to the 360° that the filament does. The beam pattern will be even worse than pnp hids.

They will probably be heavily concentrated in some areas and lack lighting in others making them seem bright if you are looking in the beam path, but in reality they are not near as bright.
Cree leds are the brightest in the industry. Not even those LEDs are as bright as Halogen. Now, if you packed a couple hundred of them then yeah, but for the size of the bulb that will fit through the hole, there is nothing brighter than halogen except HID.

Please, prove me wrong because it would benefit so many people that skip their way past all that and jump right in the HID kits.

I agree on the Cree LED's being the brightest. But i will say their are Cree LED's out there that are far brighter then Halogen for comparable size. I had a Surefire M6 Devastator which had a Xenon bulb that ran on 6 batteries and burned for only 20 minutes. That was 500 Lumens. I now carry a Jetbeam DDR 30 which is the same size light but is over 3,000 Lumens and burns over an hour. It is FAR brighter then any headlight and even surpasses the power of our spotlights mounted on the rigs. As a reference, the typical 9006 Halogen bulb is about 1,000 Lumens even before you take the reflector into the equation. Of course, part of the intensity has to do with the reflector design, but the LED technology has come a long way.

Do i think a retrofit LED bulb will give as much light output as an HID (or close to it) using my stock Halogen housings and NOT blind other drivers? No. But i am would love to be proved wrong as well. We shall see.

In the interim, i am mounting a set of Rigid SR-Q2's flush mounted in my bumper to give some needed close up light to compliment my factory Headlights and Fog lights.

Unfortunately anything other than a filament (ie leds or hids) will screw with the beam pattern and send light everywhere, ultimately blinding other drivers on the road. The only way to get around this is to change the optics, whether by retrofitting hid projectors or some sort of led with optics suited for vehicles. I went the hid projector route because it wasn't too expensive and gives more light (~3200lm per bulb) than the leds in vehicles with them from the factory.

I ended up getting a pair of H11 Silverstar Ultra's for my headlights and are very happy with them. There is a tremendous difference in he amount of light they put out over stock bulbs with a much nicer light color!

As stated already, they do NOT put out any more light than stock, actually, they put out less light when measured in Lumens. Our eyes just perceive it as more light because of the color shift with them providing a whiter light. At any rate if we perceive something to be brighter, then it obviously is doing us good and allowing us to see better. Plus the whiter light looks better although the Ultras shine a little too much blue for me. Stand back about 75ft and you'll see definite blue. I could se it just driving down the road.
Just wanted to clarify. Enjoy the new Lights.
