That was the old saying to check to oil with every fill up. Not a bad idea. I normally only do about once a month. But my truck doesn't see much in the way of miles.

On every vehicle i have owned over the past 25 years i typically pop the hood at least twice a month to check on things. I look for sings of any fluid leaks and pull the dipstick and look at the level and condition of the oil. Just a habit i have always had. Plus in both of my occupations (Fire department and Railroad) it's something we do all the time as well.

Update on my 2011...

Just switched back to using the blue fluid since I ran out of Rain-X and the sensor is still jammed on, going to pull the sensor and clean it with some acetone.

Yes, it is buildup from the Rain-X fluid that affects the sensor. Clean it and it should be fine (for a while if you switch back to Rain-X, or for good if you use normal WWF).

If cleaning it does not solve the issue, a new Mopar sensor can be had for less then $3.00 shipped.
