new Ram 2500 owner, questions
Hey guys, sold my 06 Ram and bought a '11 2500 with the cummins Cummins. Couple of things I need to fix that I was aware of when I bought it.
First, I need to figure out what each of the plugs under the drivers seat are and what they do, etc.
Second, rear air vents have NO air coming out of them. Is this a common problem? Wondering if it could be related to a wiring issue with the aforementioned plugs under the drivers seat.
Third, right side 12v plug isn't currently working, need to get it fixed. There is not one in the console, had anyone installed one there?
Fourth, overall air flow seems low compared to my 2006. Doesn't blow near as hard with everything full blast.
Fifth, have a double din I took out my old truck, what wiring harness do I need to install after market stereo? No uconnect, no steering wheel controls. Has anyone installed steering wheel controls?
Sixth. How can I get my hands on a factory service manual? Hag one for my 2006. Really came in handy.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Cant't help you with much of the other issues although based on the number of them it might be worth talking to a local dealer who has techs who understand these trucks well to at least go through your truck and tell you what's wrong with it and then you can decide what, if any problems you would like to tackle yourself.
As for the radio question, like you i went from an 06' to an 11' and replaced the radio in both. The 11' will fit a Double Din but you will need to cut a small crossmember to fit Double Dins in the 4th gens. I had a local shop do the work for me but i watched most of the process and asked lots of questions. I have factory steering wheel controls and they work with my aftermarket radio because i purchased a special adapter. You could obviously get a steering wheel with the factory controls and then buy the adapter and do the same thing. It also makes an aftermarket radio do everything the stock radio would do as far as staying on when the key is turned off and until you open the door. The Adapter is a PAC model C2R-CHY4

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking that was the adapter I needed but before I shelled out the $60 for it I wanted to be sure. Haven't ever had steering wheel controls so I don't know that I'll go that route but if I have the option that might be something I do later.
On a side note, my air wasn't blowing very hard because there is a problem with the recirc door. It will close to allow fresh air by itself, but will not raise back up to recirculate inside air. Found a lot of stuff on 3rd gens, haven't found how to take care of this in a 4th Gen. Complete different setup.
Wiring problem is non-issue and not hazardous right now. My truck doesn't use the plugs that I was concerned about.
Right outlet is burned out and needs to be replaced. Plug has power confirmed by test light.
A/C flow from vents is low because the actuator does not raise the door to the recirc position. Can manually raise the door. Probably have to replace the actuator. Anyone know how to do this without pulling the dash? That seems labor and time intensive, and I don't have a lot of spare time to do it.
Still do not know about the lack of air flow from rear vents. Will probably have to pull the center console and check all the vents and see what's up. Not related to any wiring issue under the seat.
Would still be interested in installing power outlet into the center console. Might have to source the outlet and harness for that.
Still no luck finding an actual FSM somewhere, was hoping to find one in PDF like previous year models up to 4th generation. Anyone know where this information is hiding?
