I did a search for high beams not working and found nothing like my problem, if there is one I missed it.


I have 2009 1500 base model, no bells or whistles and nothing added. I live way out in the country where deer and fallen limbs are the biggest road hazards at night so having working high beams are a must.


My high beams quit working. The lows work just fine. When I pull back on the high/low beam column stalk to "flash" the highs for passing the high beams come on. So I know that both high beam bulbs are good and the wiring is ok. They just don't work when I push the stalk forward to go to only high beams.


I checked out the fuse box under the hood but couldn't decipher which one might be a "light" relay or fuse. I don't want to go taking the steering column apart to get to the switch just yet if there is something more simple to check first.


Anyone know what I should check for or had similar problems?
