If you are going to install anything I would double check that it isn't going to interfere with the operation of your airbags and other crash safety features like crumple zones. In my mind having to fix the truck after hitting a deer would be minor compared to getting seriously injured in a crash that you would otherwise have walked away from because of some body armour.
