That would work too.

I guess I'd just have to find the year range that would work, and where to buy from.

I've got my Garmin Nuvi in the truck right now, but I don't care for it stuck to the windshield.

After driving my dad's '12 Dodge Journey with the nav and back up camera in dash, it would be nice to have, especially in the truck.

Only thing I have bought so far is the aftermarket radio mount (under $10) so if i go the factory route, I'm not out a lot.

It's probably cheaper also, when you figure everything needed to make an aftermarket radio work.

I've heard good reviews from oempartsco.com the sell factory units, just enter your year make and model and they will give you the radios that will work in your truck. I bought one for my srt jeep, worked great

Good idea, but it think it might be more expensive than going aftermarket.

I currently don't have U-connect or a BU cam, so I'd need to add the 'MyGIG Unlock pick kit' thingy, a camera, and a phone jabby, on top of the close to $1K price of the radio. (at least according to oempartsco I need those things)

Have to see where I'm at after Hamfest next month, already picked up a couple of linears and another 2M radio, still need an antenna tuner and analyzer.

Meanwhile, I'll keep searching and researching. Maybe I can find a radio cheaper, and the extra stuff won't be bad.

Too many hobbies, not enough incomes!

As information, my Kenwood unit which has Garmin GPS, Bluetooth Pandora, Cell phone interface, Ipod interface, CD player, DVD player, HD radio and Sat radio plus a USB port to look at photos or watch movies or listen to audio plus the install kit, steering wheel interface (allows all factory steering wheel controls to work with the unit) cost right around a grand. A backup camera (that replaces the factory tailgate handle, just like OEM) cost about $230 extra and while it turns on automatically when you put the truck in reverse, you can also turn it on manually and use it like a 4th mirror or split screen it with anything else. Absolutely no comparison to any factory system offered when you consider features and audio quality. I have not forgotten about the pics, need to find a site to host and then ill link them here.

Cool, thanks NV290.

I'm in no big rush, just had to shell out most of my 'stash cash' to help the kid out with his Jeep and his girlfriends car.

But will be definitely doing something in the near future.

I couldn't check out that site. DNS issue somewhere. As for the OEM my gig radio, I can't find a 430 for less then $1000. They're usually more... Why is yours so cheap?

So I finished the install and all went well. Took me about four hours with water breaks. Worked fine on Sat and Sun. Then go to work this morning and nothing??? Dead screen no lights only function was the dvd open and close. So I get off work and it turns on like it should. I am confused. I am guessing in the next day or two i will pull the trim and make sure the connections are snug and secure. Any thoughts? Thanks
