Just got a new 14 Big Horn that has the 8.4A touch screen radio but does not have navigation. Does anyone know what the dealer has to do to activate navigation? The window sticker says its NAV ready. Do they have to download something to the radio or just activate something that's already there? Thanks
My 2014 Laramie sticker said the same thing & when I asked about it, it would be about $750 to upgrade it. I believe they have to add the GPS module to the 8.4A. Makes sense since my clock was a few minutes off, meaning it is not set from a GPS signal. I'll pass, I have enough GPS's around!
My dealer told me it's just a software flash and is $500, same as the upgrade from the factory.
I ordered mine without it. For $500 you can get a great standalone GPS with FREE lifetime map updates and have some money left over. Or, what I did, was get a $20 Scosche Magic Mount to mount my iPhone. Unobtrusive, cheap and effective. And I'll always have up to date maps and software.
