Disable seatbelt alarm?
TC Especially since it makes a difference on fuel consumption (allegedly).
Cheers!
This is great!
I always wear a seat belt when on public roads. It just feels weird not to - I've been wearing my seat belt for 35+ years.
However, at my place of business, I put up and take down our OPEN flag every day at the end of our driveway. It's around 300 yards from there to where I park, and while I would rather listen to the chime than buckle and then unbuckle 30 seconds later, I hate the chime. Ditto for picking up the mail at the end of our 200' driveway, or moving the truck around in the parking lot.
So, thank you THANK YOU for the tip.

1 Get in Truck
2 Buckle Seat Belt
3 Start Truck - wait for seat belt light to go out
4 Within 60 seconds of starting vehicle, unbuckle then buckle your belt 3 times, ending with it buckled (this process (3 times of unbuckle/buckle) must be completed within 10 seconds from the first time you unbuckle.
5 Turn off truck - you will hear one 'ding' to confirm.
BTW, for my 2015 I had to just turn the ignition to RUN as opposed to actually Starting the truck to get it to work.

Get a seatbelt extender from your dealer--some of them will give one for free--or you can buy one at a parts store. This tells the computer your buckled in and shuts the alert off, plus you can plug your belt into it when you need it--which is pretty much always.
Just like dwaldmann said, I did my 2016 1500 without starting the engine.
Fastening the seatbelt is such a habit that the chimes are ineffective.
I basically don't do the seatbelt after checking the mail and the short drive through the small subdivision.
