Default diablo tuner I-1000

Anyone using the diablo tuner on there Rams? I have a 2010 Ram and I'm looking to use the I-1000 to control my electric fan for engine cooling and a/c, that way I can remove the mechanical one. Any thoughts or ideas?

Use one on the wife's 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Hemi), and will be purchasing one for the Ram too. The Jeep doesn't have a mechanical fan... once controlled with a programmer, does the electric fan work well enough to be able to take off the old mechanical unit?

I understand that you may have to drop the temp rating on the thermostat, but I'm still waiting to hear back. I would like to add the tune just to remove the mechanical fan, thus gaining fuel economy and power.
