Default OEM Tires Versus Leather Interior

So is it me, or are the OEM Firestone tires that come with the 2500's crap. Just want to get a pulse to see how many people have replaced their oem tires on the 2015 2500's before they were even worn. I live in MD and we had 30" of snow. I got through it a little, but started to slip at the top of my street. I have a megacab weighing in at 10k lbs, and still was slipping at times...

I was thinking of getting a leather Mopar Katzskin installed, or a set of tires... Advice?

Thanks for any feedback,

OEM tires are made of a softer compound than the same ones you can buy aftermarket. They wear faster depending on your driving style. I've had some OEM tires wear out in 20k miles, others lasted 40k. Proper rotations, pressures and not driving like you stole it play a big part in tire longevity.

most oem tires for all manufactures will need to be changed before the new car warranty expires. Yes, the factory tires are junk for deep snow.

for the driving your doing you need a deep tread. My goodyear wranglers are fantastic and not to aggressive so they are quiet. they are stud-able if you drive on ice.

Most OEM tires are not snow peak rated, Most at best are all-season which my say all-season but in below freezing temps, snow and ice suck. Im in Canada, and Snow Peak rated (Winter Tires) are a must for winter, Some Provinces mandate all tires be snow peak rated between certain dates. Just like studded tires can only be used between certain dates.

Thanks for any feedback,

Lots of tires suck in the snow, oem or not. I replaced the tires on my wife's new car the first week she had it. They were a good southern tire but completly useless in a MN winter.

I'd buy tires before leather, although I wouldn't ever have leather un a pickup especially in a cold climate.

PLEASE post some thoughts on them. I am going to buying a new set of tires in the next month or two. I have been torn between the EXO Grapplers and the Terra Grappler G2's. Please let me know what you think of them. I have read that they are a little squishier then the terra Grappler G2's, I just don't know if its that bad or not.

What I read about the exo is it's a very good tire, I had the g2's on my 09 TRX, and they did great in the snow. But I'm always open for other thoughts as there are other choices out there like goodyear duratracs.
