Maybe you are thinking about the VVT aspect of MDS. Variable Valve Timing (VVT) also referred to as VCT (Variable Cam Timing), uses a cam phaser. The phaser varies the cam relationship (timing) mechanically. Some have attributed a noisy ticking sound with MDS active and have fixed the MDS noise by replacing the cam phaser.

I don't know the extent to which VVT and MDS are associated. I suppose it's possible that your problem is caused by the phaser.

297,000 is great!!

What was your oil change intervals?

What oil brand are you running?

Lifetime warranty -- wow

They program those codes to pop up so you will go back in to trade. Just kidding

Very nice that you still have your lifetime warranty in place at this juncture. Any updates at this point from the dealership?
