Question TPMS Reporting Inaccurate Tire Pressure - One Wheel Only

2010 Dodge Ram 2500 HD 6.7 Diesel Big Horn - 45,000 miles

Left front tire pressure is reading way higher than actual tire pressure. With tire inflated to 65 psi cold the dash TPMS shows the left front tire at 75, 80 even 90 psi at times.

Tires have not been changed - still factory original tires. This started occuring suddenly a few months ago during very cold weather. Is there any way to reset this TPMS for this one wheel? What's the likely cause of this and what should I do about it?

Thanks for your help. Ken

Probably a bad sensor.

I agree, could be a bad sensor. On a side note, 65psi? Sounds kind of high, thought max psi was like 38.

Door of the truck specifies 60 front 70 rear for normal load. For height loads like when I have our 34 foot gooseneck flatbed trailer it's higher.

Thanks to everyone for the responses.

That would be high for a 1/2 ton, but the 2500 and the HD2500's run between 65 and 80.

My '09 2500HD rides like a lumber wagon, unless there's a good load in the bed or on the trailer.

65 isn't high considering he has a 3/4 ton with probably 10 ply tires. I have Duratrac 10 plies that I keep at 50 psi but are rated to 80 psi. Ride isn't all that bad on my 1500.

Ah, I see, did not realize that it was not a 1500.
