Default Filters

I know there are differences in air, oil filters etc. I am use to getting my filters at walmart for my previous vehicles, but wonder if maybe I need something a bit better than the Fram they sell at wallyworld.
I would also like to start using a synthetic 5W20 oil, and WW sells some different kinds, and I have a 111000 miles on the 2009 Ram I just bought.
Some suggestion/insight from you who have been doing this for a long time would be appreciated

Transmission, ATF+4 Mopar brand is ok based on being good for 120,000 miles. One change and you are going to be good out to 240,000 miles.

Valvoline makes a synthetic ATF+4. IDK?

Bob is the oil guy has a lot of Internet material.

Engine oil filter, it's going to get thrown away after a few months. I try not to get to attached. Lol

Engine oil, the manual says to only use 5w-20 for proper operation of the mds. I've been running 0w-30 synthetic for 10,000 miles, @ 5,000 mile intervals. Unfortunately my mds still works.

Spark plugs, I went with the 100,000 mile ones versus OEM 30k units.

Coolant, I change mine annually because it's inexpensive.

Brake fluid, pump the old out, refill with new, clean, dot 3.

Change your diffs and transfer case if you have 4wheel drive.

Put in a new battery if you are unsure of its age or have the old one tested if possible.

No warranty, no worries, buy what is available near you at a price point that works for you.

Would not suggest switching to synthetic with that many miles. Walmart sells other makes of filters as well. Bosch, STP along with Fram. There are people who say fram filters are junk but I've been using them for years across multiple vehicles and have never had a problem. Choice is yours if you want to spend more money on a filter.

Yes. Some people who have done that report oil leaks after switching. If it's had Dino oil all its life, leave it alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

since there arent many true synthetics out there, most are a group 3 dino stock base, you can switch to any group 3 syn.

Best to make the switch before the engine breaks in. Otherwise you would be spending lots of extra money without the full benefits. I would save money for preventative mx (plugs, header bolts, trans flush, etc)
