Default TPMS question

I have a set of rims and brand new tires (Michelin LTX M/S II) that came off my 2009 Sport Quad. I now have a new 2016 Sport Crew. It has the dash display that shows the tire pressure and at what psi they are each at. Will the TPMS that are in the '09 wheels work with the new display? Or will it give a malfunction notice? I don't care about knowing the PSI, but it would be nice.
I kept these new tires and rims when I traded in as the tires were brand new and didn't want to give the dealer any more than they needed.
Just wondering if I am going to bring it in and get the newer TPMS installed or Craigslist them gone.
Was going to use the stock rims on the 2016 for snows as I am not really that fond of the rims at all.......

Hey,just to let you know that Dodge changed the tpms sensors in2012. So your 2009 rims when installed will not communicate with your 2016. I own a 2010 Ram with 2015 sport rims on it and the seniors don't read, thus i need to change the 2015 with ones from 2009-2011. Hope this helps you.

If I pull the ones off my 09 rims, we could swap.....

Thats an idea, although i do live in Toronto,Canada. Might cost to much for shipping. Now they do make aftermarket ones that can be programmed to any year.
