Default chrome mirror covers

I have a 2016 1500 Laramie. Can the chrome mirror covers be removed? If so, is there just a black mirror behind it? Don't know if the cover is tapped on a mirror as an accessory.

Default Chrome over Black

Greetings, I just purchased a 2017 Ram and it had black mirrors, I bought MOPAR crome covers and they fit very well. I would assume, but not 100% sure, this is what you have as standard.

The chrome covers are held on with double stick tape. ( 1/8" foam tape). They can be removed by using a hair dryer to blow heat on the back side while slowly prying off the cover.
3 rows of tape run horizontal and a little strip on the underside tab of the cover.
