Default Intake or Exhaust first?

Hi, I recently traded my 2010 Ram 1500 Sport for a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4. I want to add a performance air intake and a freer flowing exhaust, but I only have the money to do one or the other right now. I was wondering if it's "safe" to do one without the other, and which would be more beneficial on its own.

I know very little about late model automobiles, but the reason I'm asking this is that on a Harley you can safely do one of three of exhaust/tune/intake, but if you do two of them, you must do the third. So I thought I'd better make sure it's ok to do intake and/or exhaust on their own.

Here are the Exhaust and Intake I'm looking at. If these are not good choices, I'd appreciate your letting me know that too.

I'm about equally concerned with performance and sound. Thanks for your time!

Go with exhaust. Your vehicle already has a cold air intake.
